Hi all,

My colleague here at work has informed me that BE, my ISP, is to double customers connection speeds over the next few days.
Has anyone else heard this, or is he talking a load of twomcoddle?

bt will never beat be/o2/sky as they will always throttle
Never say never, if be/o2/sky are as good as you say they could end up being over subscribed and they will have to follow everyone else and throttle....just a thought.

He's probably thinking of the Line Bonding trial that Be are doing at the moment.
Originally it started on the Paddington exchange but has now been opened up a little to customers who have the two BT lines necessary to test it.
If accepted by Be you are then sent a special ADSL2+ router.

Yes you're right, two lines which unless Be can do some sort of deal with BT means it's going to be quite expensive.

I dont think this is for business so thats (good point that it is) not relevent. I know a few people with a seperate line to a home office or similar but even so this is for the very high end user and to compete with the 50mb cable stuff.

Can you get some deals on 2 line rentals from BT maybe - it might not be so bad.
