Will this player output 24fps on component at any of the component resolutions 720p or 1080i??

There some info on page 45 suggesting 720p/24hz

Will any Blue Ray players output 24fps via component or is it the same as HD-DVD when is will only ever be 1080p/24 via hdmi?

    Hi,

It may not be that simple.
Firstly, is your display capable of a refresh rate that is a multiple of 24?
    (48,72,120Hz)
If not, 24fps is not going to be of any benefit to you.
The other consideration is whether your display will accept 1080/24p over component. Even then you may still have problems getting it to display.

The reason for compulsory use of HDMI is to allow the player & display to perform the HDCP handshake.
If the signal chain is interrupted with an Analogue device, the Handshake cant happen, as this is exactly what HDCP is meant to prevent....
    Or so I believe ;)
