Ok So I bought a Sony BDP-S490 and realised that I should have got one with built in Wi-Fi to update the firmware, I was looking at the Sony Dongles and thinking that's a lot of Money then I realise could my Sky Wireless Router connected to my Sky Box to bring me Sky+ Anytime work as a dongle, Guess what it works like a dream.

I hope this advise saves people money.

If you're saying you have your Sky+ box connected by a network cable to a device that also connects to your 'phone line to give the Sky+ box access to online services, and you've also connected your BD player by network cable to that device, then yes that is the preferable way to connect and removes the need to specify a BD player capable of WiFi connection.

I use a 15 metres £5 ethernet cable from Amazon just to connect for firmware updates which are not regular. I just check from time to time then reconnect the cable from player to my router which is in another part of the house, hence the length of cable used. Works perfectly...

Making sure there is a network connection available to your AV equipment seems as important to me as having a mains socket these days.
This isn't just for updates but many devices can access web content and there's also the chance to access your media files on a NAS elsewhere in the house.
If all your devices are wireless then it's easy, but assuming at least one or two are wired then it's possible to operate some wireless routers as an access point (bridged to your main router) or use homeplug some of which also have multiple ethernet sockets. A single dongle has always been a poor solution.
