It seems some users have gotten Windows Media Player 12 to see a networked BD-C6900 as a media device it could "play to." I'm having no luck with that feature with the BD-C7900. A right click on any media in WMP does not display a "Play To" option as it did when I had my old DSM-320 attached to my network. Selecting "Media Streaming Options" does not show the device as being on the network, though it is (I can play music on my computer "from" the DB-C7900 using its built-in software). Also, the network map in Win 7 does not see the device unless I click on "Click here to see all other devices," in which case it shows PC Share Manager as a media device if I have PC Share manager running. With the DSM-320 I didn't have to do anything special to get it discovered in WMP. Is there a step I'm missing with the BD-C7900?
