You seem to think both sky and the BBC offer utter tripe. Can I suggest you get rid of your TV and find something else to fill your time with. Then you won't have to pay the BBC. See you do have a choice.

I do have a choice, that's true. The likes of Amazon, Netflix and my library of DVD and BR discs works well for me. Yet I still have to pay a TV licence, just for the privilege of owning a TV so that I can choose not to watch any of the dross that BBC transmits, BBC4 excepted. That said, even the output of BBC4 has been pretty mediocre of late.

Yes, it seems that I was incorrect in my last statement. Thanks for the clarification. So I need a TV licence if I want to watch anything live, be it linear TV or streamed. Nice.
