    HI,

I'm not impressed by the BBC! They've only gone and bought the short 42 minute version of Buffy The Vampire Slayer's acclaimed sixth seaon episode "Once More, With Feeling"!!!

    Their reasons?

So that it would still fit in to the regular 45 minute time slot, that the BBC2 schedules allow!

    The gits!!!

I was really looking forward to seeing the full, uncensored, hour-long edition, and the stupid idiots at the BBC have only gone and screwed it up!

    Why, oh why, oh why?!

Are they also showing this version on Friday night when it's supposed to be uncut?

Just when I was starting to 'like' BBC2 for showing Buffy & Farscape letterboxed (I only have analogue terrestrial)

    Nike,

There are two versions of "Once More, With Feeling": a 42-minute version, and a longer director's edition, that runs about 60 minutes.

Sky 1 have shown both, but it looks like the BBC are only showing the regular 42-minute version on both Thursday and Friday nights! Having said that, both transmissions will be in Widescreen! :)

However, Sky 1 is repeating "Once More..." on January 3rd or 4th, at 21:50 hours. But having telephoned them, they don't know which version they will be airing, or if it will be in Widescreen or not!

It'll be strange if the beeb don't show it in full on Fri' as every other ep. has been AND Sky only bought the full version because of the beeb saying it was what they were going with. I have Sky so it's not important to me but for others it's a shame, especially as Sky actually showed it in WS - strange days.

I didn't like the episode personally.

So unless Buffy strips off in the longer edition then i won't be changing my mind.

Thought it was excellent & I am not a lover of musicals.
Hopefully the full version will be included when s6 is released on DVD.

thought willow going down on tara at the end of their song was a bit TOO rude for the show, although I love the episode as a whole, the next one Tabula Rasa is utter quality as well.

    Hi,

Yep, I got caught out on this one. The BBC specifically told me that they would only be showing the 42-minute version on both Thursday and Friday nights.

I was livid when I found out that the full, hour-long version aired instead, and complained to the BBC. (This probably also explains why the BBC was bombarded with other fans complaining, last night!) Not only did they essentially lie to me, they also changed the end time, so the PDC and Videoplus codes didn't activate correctly, meaning most viewers missed the final few minutes of the show.

I have requested that they repeat this episode again, and make certain that they announce it / schedule it correctly!!

Loved the episode, but shame on the BBC for ballsing this up!

Do n't know if you've seen it, but a CD soundtrack of the episode is being advertised, on Sci Fi.

Love this episode, Joss Whedon has worked broadway traditions, hollywood musicals and his favourite AOR cues into a Grease for the Goth generation.
Noticed apart from running time, Thursday and Friday were shown in different aspect ratios, particularly noticeable in title sequence.

I'm going to get the soundtrack CD with my Xmas vouchers pretty soon ...

Does anyone know exactly when the next series of Buffy starts on Sky One ... closest I can find is "early Jan"?
