    I was lucky enough to be able to get along to the Open Day for an afternoon. Didn't see "SuperVolcano" - but was able to see quite a lot of other stuff - including a neat demo of D-VHS, HVD, BluRay (Japanese MPEG2) digital HD recording formats.

    Just as the HD demos in John Lewis (love those little Japanese HiVision Panasonic set-top boxes and IOData Firewire HD recorders they are using) what you realise is how much better good LCDs and Plasmas look when they are fed HD sources.
