A friend given me a BBC micro computer from the 80's.
I want to test it the display, to see if it works.
Does anyone know what kind of lead I require to attach it to a TV?

With the UHF out:

RCA to TV aerial?

?

Then after that an aerial cable to go to the female on the adaptor.

The Video Out looks like a BNC socket. From that you should get composite out.

Though you'd need a phono composite input on your TV.

We need photos of your TV and the BBC or model numbers etc.

Thanks for the reply. I think I might have one of those connectors laying around.
I am not interested in picture quality. Just want to see if a picture does get displayed via the cheapest option!

Cheers will do. TBH I am wishing, I never turned the thing on, as it's got a right pungent smell coming off it!

Sounds like its not been used for a long time.

Agreed. I don't think it's been started for a while!
What would help a vacuum out the vents?
Depends on your own level of confidence, but I'd open it up an clean it out like I did with my Amiga 500.

In all honesty I'm not 100% sure, but you could locate the screws on the bottom and try removing a few of them to see if the case comes apart. I'd guess there could be quite a lot of dust inside and that's maybe what smells.

In which case, donate to my good home for old computers.... ;)

Seriously, if you decide you don't want it, there is a healthy 8bit hardware market.

Ok thanks. I'll have a look inside. Though I am of the reckoning. My BBC, don't look like that on the inside! :(

Please keep us posted, Games I would recommend are Citadel, Repton 2, Imogen... There are hundreds of great games and loads of Cr@p Lol.

The big three software housed were Acornsoft, Superior Software and Tynesoft.
