The performance on i-player will depend on the speed of your wifi/BB connection.

I -player has the option in settings for low/medium/high video quality. The latter only works where the speed is around 10mbps or higher. Try a lower setting and if the speed is borderline check that no-one else on your wifi network is sharing it and making big demands on your BB connection. ( e.g. grandsons older brother gaming on his smart phone)

    Also try the TVCatchup app.

BBC News I assume you are accessing via an internet browser and therefore may be a lower resolution video.

BT Infinity should most definitely be OK but just in case there is a glitch in the system or in your router or tablet settings please check your BB speed as received by the tablet using http://www.speedtest.net

Please take an average of 3-4 readings and report back here.

Have you downloaded the BBC media player app? You'll need that as well to play content from iPlayer on android.
