The online tour of the forthcoming interactive media player mentions that there will be teasers of HD BBC programmes. (Well, depending on how you read it, you could imply that there might even be some full programmes)... http://www.bbc.co.uk/imp/tour/tour3.shtml Overall the iMP looks like it's going to be a brilliant 1.0 product. Aswell as being able to download all programmes from the last seven days, there's the ability to do "series record", sensibly engineered as P2P delivery, and a nice looking UI to boot. I've been accepted for the trial... can't wait. Anyone else?
The only thing I can say about this is that it is a genuine service which warrants unmetered broadband, in time when this is a proven success (and I think it will be) we may see the tide turning against those ISP's who cap their services.
....excellent - how long the likes of ntl will be able to enforce draconian caps we'll have to wait and see. They're going to look rather stupid if they backtrack and offer say 500 gig early next year after booting off a shed load of customers. Well, I've had not "warning monitoring" letter - I may have escaped!! Roll on next month!!
I requested to be part of the trial ages ago, I even received an email thanking me for my interest and was told I'd get more information later on. Still waiting Dave.
I got onto the trial early last week, so you should have heard from them already if you are on the trial. A co-worker received the email at the same time. The software can be downloaded from the 19th, and HDTV content will be downloadable. It also says that the programmes can be downloaded to a PVR, etc. I have a Pinnacle Showcenter 200, so I really hope I can download the HDTV content to my PC and watch it through the Showcenter on my HDTV.
Here are some links I found with the help of Google: http://www.bbc.co.uk/imp/online_files/hdtv.html (content) http://www.bbc.co.uk/imp/client/eula.html (agree, and the download starts!) ;-) Install it at your own risk! Downloads will not work without a registration.
