Once again, the BBC have totally ruined this event with their banal-beyond-belief coverage. Five 1/2 hour heats followed by 50 minutes coverage of the final. As usual, each programme was effectively a travelogue for the place where its held, in this case Scarborough, repeated daily for 6 days, with the constant strumming of 'Scarborough Fair' overdubbed at every given opportunity... The result of this is that in a half hour programme, about 10 minutes of action is actually seen. And during this we have to put up with the same series of cliched comments from Paul Dickinson... Not sure what the viewing figures are for these programmes, but I believe they are pretty popular - but please, please BBC, improve the quality of the coverage !
