I just switch the Sky box on and it was on BBC2 and On Battle of the River Plate.and the picture was not reaching either side of the screen, it was like a bit like a 16:9 W/S picture but in the centre of the screen. I checked what it was being transmitted at and it was anamorphic.
I then switched to terrestrial and it was the same on there only this time the picture was zoomed to its max but was still a small picture.
I just went back and looked and it looks like both are now being transmitted in 4:3.

    Has anyone else spotted this.

Never a dull moment with the BBC picture ratios.
Looks like a 2:35 ratio image but then again there are times when I start fiddling with my video processor and I am not quite sure what the original ratio was:)

Yes they were total numpties on this one.

It was either 1.85:1 or 14x9 4x3 letterbox that had gone through a scaler to make it anamorphic but no-one had bothered to notice that the 4x3 master was in fact letterboxed.

    Total prats.
