Thought I would start the first thread just to see who will be glued or not to BB6 this year.

I am sadly looking forward to it as I have a feeling this years BB has the potential to be quite or if not very entertaining.

Totally agree with the above two posts, one of the worst 'programmes' ever. Hate with a passion also.

I can't stand it. Watched the very first show to see what the fuss is about. It's about nothing. Absolute nonsense through and through.

I just watched it for the first time with the missus, normally not interested.

However I like the fact that we can bet and the boob size of a couple of the combatants, come on Derek i've got £25 on you. (I am straight, honest, and have had 8 pints).

Oh God! It was like a car wreck tonight - you know you shouldn't look, but your eyes were drawn to it.

Drop the bomb now - killl them all! Awful, awful people. The nearest thing to normal among them is a black, gay, somewhat dim Tory. How deranged is that?

I'm sure that gay people across the country are horrified at their "representatives" this year. How long did the producers have to trawl to come up with that nasty, f****d up pair of poisonous acid-queens?

Quotes of the evening from the vicious hairdresser on his reason for wanting to be on BB - "I love to destroy people's lives!" and "I want to bring the views of my salon to the country." :rotfl:

And how dim was the gay/bacon-eating/boozing/transvestite Muslim for boasting on national television about how he defied his religion's teachings. Anyone sense a Fathwa coming on? Or at least a good kicking when he emerges from the house. :D Thick beyond belief!

A three-word newslflash for divorced-from-reality Lesley. Fat - not fit.

Anyone catch the "leaked" sound for a few seconds when you heard a cameraman or someone (not a housemate's "voice") say "Isn't that a freak?"

Yes it was. Don't know which one of the thirteen he was refering to, but the answer is "Yes".

I swore I wasn't going to watch this. But I at least feel strangely drawn to the daily highlights. Let's face it, it's got to be worth a watch for the reincarnated-from-a-past-life-in-Atlantis/psychic/multiple-alien-abductee/White Witch alone. (I kid you not!)

    Somebody STOP me!!!

I won't stop you. Go ahead and gape :smashin:

Now that the freak shows that used to travel the land in olde Victoria days are long gone I suppose this is the nearest modern day equivalent to it. At least they're locked up in the house and not doing any mischief on the streets of Britain. As for the Black gay Conservative being the most normal there I suppose that puts everything in perspective.

I do laugh at how the people who slag it off the most "the most reprehensible piece of crap on tv" etc. etc., seem to be the ones who watch it the most and can't take their eyes off it. I also laugh at how the newspapers (at least the tabloids) will be calling it the final dumbing down of tv and worst housemates in the house, ever, while gleefully reporting every movement in the house in a 2 page daily colour spread.

The_pauley i thought that you were a man with a good taste in movies and an extensive dvd collection. You surely must have some great classic dvds you havent seen for a while that you can watch instead of this :D

It's complete s**t, but sometimes curiosity gets the better of me and I have to look even though I hate myself for doing it.

This madness normally lasts about a fortnight then I forget it's even on. At least that's what's happened before, but I haven't seen any of this lot yet as I was mashed last night and have only just got up!

    Hi,

All I can say is "Oh my god"! What a complete bunch of :censored: loosers that Channel 4 have selected for Big Brother 6!

Just for a laugh, and because I do genuinely hate the show so much, I thought I'd provide my own personal opinion about this year's contestants. Enjoy! :rotfl: And to those of you who think I'm being too rude, or love BB… don't read any further! :lesson:

    Derek (Male, 40 years old)
Snooty, po-faced, man who had a picture of Margaret Thatcher on his bedroom wall, as a teenager. He's definitely gay, and comes across as really intellectual! But not just intelligently intellectual, I mean total book-work, nerdish, "There is only one opinion, and that's mine" that counts! As the oldest of the bunch, he's probably not going to be in the game for too long.

    Lesley (Female, 19)
My jaw-dropped when I saw her! She is the total personification of "Chavdom", and I would lay money on her being this year's equivalent of Jade Goody from BB a few years back. Arriving wearing a fake, nurses outfit, she epitomised the modern age of havettes. She isn't that intelligent. She seems to speak openly about not very much, and all-in-all is a bit dippy. This woman's either going to be superb or absolute hell for the viewers!

    Sam (Female, 23)
At first sight, she seems relatively normal, in comparison to the rest of the contestants. She appears to have some brain capacity. She's fairly pretty, and almost definitely bisexual. I think she's going to remain in the BB house for several weeks, and may even make it into the final three. I don't think she's the kind of person that people will not get on with. Will probably play things very low-key for a while, to suss out who's on her side, and who isn't, before making a break for this years cash prize of £100,000!

    Maxwell (Male, 24)
Anyone with a middle name of Trotter, (given to them by their four-year-old sister), deserves to be booted-out sooner rather than later! This guy loves to describe everything as "off the hook", which I presume is like saying "Blinding" or "Cool"! He's a middle-class type of chav: acts like it, but isn't technically one. Will probably do well, but get booted-out by the middle of the game.

    Vanessa (Female, 19)
A potential chav, without a doubt! She's very mad, nuts even. Could she be the contestant who this year, goes completely psycho on the rest of the housemates?! (Let's hope so! ) She liked Lesley's nurses outfit… which says it all really!

    Anthony (Male, 23)
The first contestant to be openly "booed" by the audience. Why? Mainly because he's a complete :censored: ! No, seriously, he really loves himself. He's a complete dick, who thinks he's the world's most important person. He's sexist, lazy and a true womaniser. The blokes will be on his side, when it comes to voting, whilst only the less-intelligent women (i.e. everyone except Sam) will keep him in for them.

    Roberto (Male, 32)
How do you describe an Italian guy who's also a Scouser?! Well, on the plus side, he's a teacher and a good cook. This will make him a generally well-liked housemate. But, on the downside, he may fancy himself a little but, and I'm certain that he and Anthony are going to make enemies very soon. Roberto's a bit camp, so could he be the second bisexual out of all of the gang? Very tall.

    Makosi (Female, 24)
Makosi (or Ki, as she likes to be called), loves herself. A very pampered woman, who is from Zimbabwe. A father who had 53 kids, and 15 wives. (I kid you not!) As an immigrant to the UK, she is going to find Lesley and her, becoming arch-enemies, very, very quickly. (Lesley hates people who are "pampered"!) She is a sleep-talker; that is to say, she will talk incessantly in her sleep, in a garbled language, and that's going to really nark the others. She's already up for eviction, her being the "unlucky 13th contestant", as decided by BB themselves. So, in order for her to remain in the game, she's going to have to be a complete cow. Why? In order for her to remain in the game, she has to get the most nominations for the first round of evictions. BB has decreed that if she is the person with the most nominations, she will be safe from actually being evicted. However, she can't tell anyone about this, or she gets booted-out. This could make things interesting. Does she try to stay in the game, and act like a total arse to get the votes from the other housemates, or does she keep it low-key, and get herself automatically evicted within 10 days? Oh, and did I mention that hairdo!

    Craig (Male, 20)
Stereotypical male hairdresser. A total :censored:, in my opinion! He swears, is opinionated, and is likely to be equally loathed by all the other contestants behind his back. He has an '80's hair-style, which makes him look like a prat, and almost comes across like an "estate kid"! Could be gay, or possibly bisexual.

    Mary (Female, 30)
Good god! Claims to be psychic! Claims she's been abducted by aliens seven times in her life! Looks like a (fairly sexy) goth, but was booed by the audience on arrival at the BB house. Acts slightly schizophrenic. Not overly intelligent, by all appearances. Is likely to be ostracised by the rest of the gang, for being too "kooky"! She's going to get evicted within the first 4 weeks, without a doubt. Or, failing that, is going to be nominated at every, single possible opportunity, by both men and women, but may just cling on to things, because she's not the most detestable person in the group.

    Science (Male, 22)
Another stereotyped bloke. He is the standard, everyday black male street kid, trying to be hip, but comes across a bit sad and pathetic in my view. He likes to be called "Science, the Great", but his real name is Keiron. :rotfl: Comes across as a bit of a Del Boy type; a wheeler-dealer. This could work to his advantage, but may end up being his undoing. Was booed by the audience on arrival… probably for being a bit whacky!

    Saskia (Female, 23)
The saying that appearances can be deceiving applies more here, than to any other contestant. A pretty lady. Comes across as fairly likeable… until she opens her mouth. And then, all hell breaks free! A bit vain, and will probably get walked-over or used by other contestants. Sadly, this will not be her downfall. She is openly bigotted. She hates immigrants! Describing "them people" as not her problem, and whilst not advocating the murder of all of them, she definitely makes Alf Garnett look positively pro-ethnic-minority! She is going to be openly crucified and vilified by both the other BB members, and the viewing public! My money says that she'll be out before 2 weeks are up! If not, she's going to be the cause of a similar incident, that caused so much anger and controversy, like last year. Expect sparks to fly, and to fly soon with this one!

    Keimal (Male, 19)
The only gay guy who could out-camp Graham Norton, Julian Clary and Larry Grayson, without batting an eyelid! Seriously, this guy is weird! Not just weird weird, but freaky weird! He's very overt! A bit too much of an oddball, and will probably not be liked that much by the public, although some of the lower-IQ'd women in the BB house, will probably love him to bits! (Maybe they'll get some dress-sense from him! :rotfl: ) Highly likely to get evicted, by the guys, before we get to the final 4 weeks of the game.

With all that out of the way, I also want to make the following "bets":
    - Lesley and Anthony to be the first to have coitus!
    - Lesley to become a viewer favourite, for being "not quite with it", ala Jade Goody.
    - Sam to be in the final 3 to win the entire game! Maybe even the runner-up.
    - Mary and Craig to have the first major fight, but…
    - … Saskia and Keimal (or Derek, or Science, or Mary, or Makosi, or Lesley) to have the first real slanging-match, that turns violent, and/or to be involved in the first real-slanging-match, that turns violent!
    - Keimal to be the most unlikely, outside-shot of a winner! (Hell, last year was won by a Portugese Transsexual, so….!)
    - Makosi to screw-up, and get evicted automatically, come the first round of nominations!

Okay, that's all I wanted to say! ;) Aren't I a very bad boy, for writing all of this?! :D I won't be watching any more of BB, so please don't expect any updates from me, unless it's me taking the Michael. :D I'm off to watch something with a tad more intelligence - the free porn previews on Sky! (Nah, just kidding. I'm off to watch the first bit of "Heimat"! ;) )

That was so hilarious Pooch. I just couldn't stop laughing and your're little icon faces made it even more so; I must learn how to do those. Don't blush, as I always seem to be singing your praises, but you really have such wit and humour. You should be writing our tv comedy shows, they would then be worth watching. Maybe that is what you do.

The downside of your post is that I now have to watch Big Brother to see these dysfunctional characters! I swore I wouldn't do so this year and ignored last night's offering (Heimat was on) but I really have to see how awful this year's contestants are after reading your synopsis. I hope and pray I don't find them too fascinating I cannot spend any more time in front of this television. I had to watch last year as our guest wanted to (true). My husband let out a terrible groan everytime it came on and I don't blame him but I was voting for Jason at the end, how sad is that!!

    Hi Cynthia,

Again, Thank You for your kind praise and comments! I only write what I feel, in any of my posts. Hence, if I hate something, I won't beat around the bush about it. But, if I heartily recommend something, e.g. Heimat, then I'll praise it too. :) (I only saw BB, because I was taping Heimat, and the Heimat doc at the same time, as I want to keep Heimat to watch at a more convenient time, and when I have more patience to really get to grips with it.)

I'm pretty certain you won't enjoy the characters, but try to ration yourself. I don't want you joining the ranks of Big Brother fanatics! ;) (Or "Butt Munch" as I prefer to call it, because it's so damn terrible!)

Alas, no I don't write TV comedy shows, or have anything to do with TV, other than a love of it. I'm actually a Crimnal Law Student at university.

Quite simply the worst program in the history of television. Not so much for what it is, but for the low-life viewers it attracts, the teeth-grindingly stupid pub conversations it generates, and for breathing life into the worst TV genre of all - Reality television.

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.

Now , reality tv programing, i admit, can be interesting when it is well structured and is an actual contest. Two recent examples of this has been the contender on ITV1 and ITV3 and Bravo's The ultimate fighter. Eliminations on these programs are decided by contest and competition ,not by blooming phone and text voting. The people on theses 2 programs that I have mentioned have a skill and are "knocked out" by other contestants.

Phone in voting and text voting for a reality program that has a lot of no talent no hope wanabes that a rewarded with interviews in mags like OK and HELLO is just uninspiring pish  in my humble opinion

Whatever you may think of how awful BB is, just watch Celebrity Love Island for a few minutes and you will be gagging for more BB or a gun. Can not believe ITV will let this last the whole five weeks. It's more interesting watching paint dry.
