We take a look at Platinum Games' Nintendo-published sequel to one of the greatest action games of all time.
Indeed. The Wii U is swiftly heading the way of the Dreamcast for me. Brilliant games, short life, nobody cares!
I think the problem with Nintendo is they are the kings of local co-op games in an online world. You really can't beat the local co-op of a good Mario game or Nintendo Land or SSB... but local co-op on the majority applies to teens and younger while nearly everyone else plays co-op online.Dreamcast was awesome but never stood a chance against the two heavyweights. Wii U reminds me a little of that machine. So much potential but hamstrung by Nintendo's earlier failures to capitalise on their huge fan-base from the SNES days. I kind of see Crabby's point though. Gaming has almost gone full circle and back to basics with the advent of the iPad and powerful handhelds. It's become more casual with the more successful games being of the old skool type. Yes you still get the blockbusters like Destiny and Titanfall etc but, the most popular games at the moment tend to be the quick fix type of games with inferior graphics but crucially, great gameplay. If that trend continues, it'll suit Nintendo's ethos perfectly.
I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo left the home console market (not handhelds) and just developed for the other machines like Sega did. Pride might not allow them to do that but, as you say, if Nintendos games were developed for PS4 & XB1, they'd make millions.
If they publish though then you can bet they'd still take their sweet timeThe one thing about this I'd be concerned about would be a dip in quality of there exclusives due to deadlines from either. Nintendo like to take their sweet time on there ip's and it shows when the final product arrives. No bugs etc.
