Yes another. Holy frak!

The 'Mr. Robot' creator Sam Esmail will exec produce the new take, with a search under way for a writer on the straight-to-series drama.

NBC-Universal's newly named streaming service, Peacock, is revisiting Battlestar Galactica, with a new, straight-to-series take from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, set as part of its initial content lineup. Peacock will also be the streaming home for Ron Moore's Syfy take on Battlestar Galactica.
Details about the new take on the beloved drama are being kept under wraps, though sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that it will be an updated, more modern look at the world as told through the lens of the sci-fi favorite. The updated Battlestar Galactica, sources say, will be inspired by Syfy's 2004 series developed by Ron Moore, and not based on the 1978 original from creator Glen A. Larson. Esmail is attached to executive produce. A writer for the new take has not yet been hired.

A more modern look from 15 years ago?:D
Considering they started with a baby's neck break, what are they going to go with this time to be even more fresh and modern with Esmail..?!

I only finished watching the last version a couple of months ago. At least it will still be fresh for me!

But... But.... Why?
All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again...

Esmail clarified that the show is not a straight remake but instead something of a spinoff, "because... why mess with perfection? Instead, we’ll explore a new story within the mythology while staying true to the spirit of Battlestar. So say we all!"

A one-to-one remake of Moore's reimagined BSG is unnecessary. Still looks good for its age. Going by rai's post it seems like Esmail wants to do his own thing within the BSG universe. The other spinoffs were alright but nothing special. Eternal recurrence is the overarching concept in BSG so there's plenty of scope for new stories and characters.

Hope his writing is less cringy than his sign off in rai's post though!

Perhaps a storyline set on the original earth rather than caprica might be good. See the downfall of that civilisation to the Cylons.
