I'm not sure if this is the best place. . .

I have a battery pack which needs replacing.
It's Li-Ion, the sticker just says 7.2V 12Ah 87Wh

I have a replacement which looks identical but the sticker says:
Nominal Voltage 7.2V
Nominal Capacity 11Ah
Nominal energy rating is 24Wh

I'm puzzled as the voltage and current look similar but the energy seems way off.

Can someone advise what could happen if I try the new battery?

Thanks

The nominal energy rating is how much energy the battery can store and is calculated By Nominal Voltage x Battery Current capacity in Ampere Hours.

So your original battery was 7.2v x 12ah = 86.4Wh, which is correct quoted at 87Wh.

The replacement battery should have a Wh capacity of 79.2Wh, so bearing in mind they quote 24Wh, I would't touch it.
The chances are it is an inferior battery, made from poor quality materials and will have a low capacity.
It may also blow up in your charger as it probably cannot take the charging current.
