I bought a canon S1 yesterday price match & 9 month interest free from jessops. Love the camera, now all i need is a rated battery charger. I've never bought one, any tips on where & what a brand to buy?

    Cheers

    Hi mate,
If you have a look at this link, they have accessories for it listed. I've used these before for my ixus 500 and they seem very good

Looks good to me. You'll have to let us know what you think of the camera as I'm quite interested in something like that. Don't get me wrong, the ixus is brilliant for pocketability and general purpose shooting, but I would imagine the S1 gives you more control ?

Well i've only used one day john, i had the ixus 400 and the s1 is just head and shoulders above it. I took this picture i think it was on auto. I was 80 feet from the sign at least and it was dark in the printworks. The image stalizer on it means you can take shots that you'd normally need a tripod to take.

Looks excellent. I see it can zoom to the equivalent of 380mm, which would be handy for photographing wildlife etc. Does this I.S. system mean that you can hand hold shots at the maximum zoom settings ?

I've not tried it john but from the review i've read at full zoom no tripod the image stabilzer means no noise. I'll try it john and show you later, you can get a wide angle and a telephoto addon that brings it to 608mm. cant wait to get that
