    Hi Everyone,

Back in December last year, Dave H., posted a report on approxiately what was cut from this animated film, for its US DVD release.

He said: "The cuts were very major.I cannot really say what was cut because it really will spoil it for you. One example though is all blood was digitally removed and instead of joker stabbing Bruce/Batman with a knife it was been removed to a fist punch! These are the least worrying cuts. The major cuts form a pan around sequence that was cut and the infamous flashback content had been entirely reanimated so that the emotional charge of the film has been altered and no longer makes sense. Apparently the cuts were made to make it child friendly."

Now, the film has just popped-up on Sky Digital Box Office, and having just finished viewing it, I noticed that it has been given an uncut BBFC "12" certificate. However, the BBFC classified it, at 70m 50s, which appears to be the same version Sky are running.

Therefore, what I want to know, is if the R1 DVD is longer, or is it the exact same kiddy-friendly edition that Sky have aired?

Anyone know if the uncensored 74m edition will ever get released either here, or in the USA, on DVD? Also, is the 74m edition, the uncut version, or was it originally longer than that?

Finally, why the title change? In the US, it's called: "Batman Beyond - Return Of The Joker". Here in the UK, it's been retitled as: "Batman Of The Future: Return Of The Joker". Seeing as there are two animated TV series with both of these names, e.g. "B. Beyond" and "B. Of The Future", can anyone explain why this has happened?!

    A slightly confused, and deluded,

    Pooch

Hope the above article sheds some light on the matter.

    Hey my Review <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

Anyway recently Paul Dini commented that Warner were interested in releasing the uncut version to DVD to appease the Fans... so we shall see.

Of course this is the same Warner releasing Willy Wonka and Cats n Dogs in Pan & Scam...

    Jenz.
