This is a stupid question but here goes

Is it possible to have a LCD or Plasma screen in my bathroom? Its a large room with good ventilation.

If not not is there any specially made "waterproof?" tvs for bethroom fitting?

I have seen the ones that fit into the wall but they are not compatable.

Cheers

Give Retro a shout, his company had info on bathroom TV's.

Edit, these may have been 'In wall' designs, I can't remember.

This reminds me of Two Ronnies sketch where Corbett was asking the Barker for a plug for the bathroom. Barker the shop owner gets out the ladders, climbs up and get a box full of plugs and asks "Which size?", Corbett replies "13 amp"!

Mains powered equipment isn't a good idea in the bathroom as condensation can build up on them and give you a bit of a shock. So any display will have to be low voltage / hidden behind a sealed pannel.

But here's another idea. Try an IPAQ (a PDA/Pocket PC) and transfer DVDs on to it. You can then view these in the bathroom, and it's portable so you take it with you wherever you go.

All the best,

Dr John Sim.

There are more than a few specialist bathroom screens, and a pm to retro would be one for certain. The ipaq thing, does it have 5 gigs of memory? Or can you get a 54g wireless card and stream it from another PC. 11b is not enough bandwidth, I've been there...

We've supplied and installed the TileVison Bathroom LCD TV's - the units we've used were the 17" 16:9 - they are easy to install and the remotes waterproof so you can keep it handy in the bath.

The units are based around a Philips-LG TFT with a heated front glass to stop condensation forming.

We also hooked up SKY and used a QED Room Link and third part waterproof remote to control the SKY box.

Works very well.

Best regards
