    Hi there,

Been a while since anyone posted in this thread!!!

Actually, the TV has gone again.

I've been meaning to get it sorted but we're planning on building an extension in the near future which means the bathroom will become a hallway, so my motivation has waned slightly!

To be fair, the TV lasted nearly a year without any problems. I think the issue is that the TV gets a twice daily drenching with hot water and it just can't hold up over the long term to this.

I do believe that if the TV were not actually getting directly soaked it would be fine.

Currently the TV switches on, but the 'button's aren't working and it's not responding to the remote, which is what it did the first time (only much quicker first time around).

I'll give the supplier a shout and see what he says, though I expect he'll say it's out of warranty.

    Cheers,
    Kudos

Just as an update, it turns out that the TV is still under warranty and Will at Proofvision has said he will sort me an upgraded replacement.

    Excellent service!

He's recommending an upgraded IP 67 set as compared with the IP 65 of the current one.

    Kudos

Hi Kudos your thread inspired me to redo my bathroom with a nice TV. Just checked back and have seen that the TV has gone again... eeek. My bath/shower layout is going to be similar to yours so maybe I'll give proofvision a call and see what the "standard" IP rating is for one of their sets.

Will mentioned in his email to me they are always trying to improve the product so maybe the waterproof IP rating has been improved across the board, I'm not sure.

Like I said, I think it's a good product, I just think that if the TV is going to get a daily proper drenching with hot water, best to go for the highest rated screen you can.

    Cheers,
    Kudos

Just spoke to proofvision very helpful people. They stock IP65 as standard but can order IP67 rated TV's for no extra cost. They have a lead time of two weeks to get in.

Just ordered my TV woop ! I went for an IP67 rated one so hopefully will get it next week. Just need to keep focused and get the rest of the tiles off of the walls now.

I can honestly say, it's well worth doing it. There were times when I was doing my bathroom when comments here really spurred me into action, just when you're feeling like you've got better things to do.

    All the best...

    Kudos
