Well a couple of months ago I posted having issues with my plumbing, there was a flow of hot water going up into the expansion tank. Main problem with this was the condensation in the attic and the damp caused as it dripped down the side of the house.

Well since we wanted a new bathroom anyway, at the same time we're getting rid of the tanks in the loft and moving to a pressurized system (S-Plan instead of Y-Plan) If I got that correct....

My Dad and brother-in-law is doing the bulk of the work, and I'm hiring an electrician and plasterer for the work they can't do.

Just thought I'd share some progress photos...

Here is the original layout

And how it looked in the flesh - photos from the day we got the keys.

Progress photos to follow.

First day, demolition - wall and ceiling knocked out for the new utility room.

Bathroom ripped out and smaller window fitted, since the shower will be against that wall.

Cylinder removed from the upstairs airing cupboard, and the new cylinder moved downstairs next to our relatively new boiler. It wouldn't fit upstairs, the airing cupboard has a sloping roof on it - and this new cylinder is BIG...

Pipes ready for sink and washing machine in the utility - hopefully we'll fit a belfast sink, but it'll be tight

This is 3 days progress, today is the fourth day. Plasterer comes in next week

That's good progress for 3 days.

Good to see the pipes in the walls. So much neater, I tend to price that up myself on a refit.

Having solid walls, we've got a lot of external pipework. Much to Louise's dislike.

My brother-in-law plumber will be moving some radiators to where the pipes come into the room, since currently some pipes span across several walls to get to the radiator. He'll also fit thermo valves on all of them, which will be nice!

Looks good.

> Well a couple of months ago I posted having issues with my plumbing

Sounds like a painful couple of months :D

I considered writing "HOUSE plumbing" ...thought I'd get away with it....

Not a chance...

The plasterer was delayed due to late delivery of thermal board. He's applying finish today, and my Dad will be in next Monday to fit the suite.

Over 2 weeks without a bath... I've had to go to work for showers oh well won't be long now :)

Looking good.

Part of the reason I never sub contract work when I do Bathroom refits. You start getting individual trades out and they let you down or something is always delayed. I do the lot myself- total control.
