    Hi all

I've got a load of MP3s on my hard drive, each album is in a separate folder with a jpg file of the album art already in the folder.

What I want to know can I use MP3tag to batch embed the mp3s in each folder with the jpg that is in the same folder? and if so how do you do it?

    Cheers

    Post 27 on the link

    Or use this: http://team.thenexusnet.com/nexus/AAA/

What I used. With AAA, you just right click and download all covers. But you may still need to find individual covers for some albums... either manually on AAA or just use MP3Tag for the stragglers

MP3tag is brilliant for this, you entire collection embedded in a couple of clicks - what you need learn how to use the incredibly useful 'Actions' part of it. Often overlooked and miss-understood, this is what really makes much MP3tag better than most tag editors. Like Foobar2000, it's power is hidden. Most people miss this.

Shame it does not download the art work too, but i always do it manually because more often than not you get horrible white borders from Amazons stock images, or just plain wrong, or not found at all - but then my music tastes are not really mainstream.

How do you use the "Actions" part?

Open the root music folder, so that every music file is on the list -> click actions button -> Action Groups box will apear, add a new one called Embed Art or something -> Edit the new Action group and select import cover to file -> enter string for image file name (mine are all called folder.jpg) -> run that action on every file in the list, in my case thusands -> put the kettle on.

Thanks so much for this d00d!! I tried some other programs but all had errors or didn't work. Your instructions for using MP3Tag were great. Took a bit of googling to find this forum thread though.

*Registered just to say thx ;)*

I don't understand what this does.

All I do it click change directory and choose one of my album folders then I highlight all the track and then click view>extended tags> add cover then choose the cover that is in the same directory as the album then click ok.
