    Hello!

    I wonder if it's important with bass-managenent on a DVD-player which plays SACD/DVD-Audio?

I have a Marantz SR-7200 receiver where you can specify if I have small/large speakers and subwoofer ++++

Do I need advanced bass-management on a DVD-player to achive good sound?

    Best regards,

    Arnt, Norway

I think you will find that the speaker settings on your Marantz will be ignored when you use 6CH/8CH inputs. At least they are on my harman/kardon. As you can see on my sig. I have a Tosh 520 and it's bass cutoff frequency is a very high 120hz. This results in boomy DVD-A playback, with the sub enabled. Therefore, because the Tosh doesn't have good bass management, I have to disable the sub in order to get good sound.
