    Hi,

Work are doing a festival for us minions, and the highlight of this freebie bash is Basement Jaxx playing live!

I have never been into them, although know a few tunes, and was wondering what to expect!

    Cheers

Overrated rubbish. Were on stage at Glastonbury when McCartney was on the Pyramid stage and were blew away by a 62 year-old playing 40 year-old songs. Says it all really.

Black Eyed Peas were far superior and I don't really like them. At least they could sing and play.

Faithless are by far the best live dance act going. Seeing many live dance acts is basically seeing a dj set, unless they use the singers that have guested for them on their tracks. Not always a good idea when a dance artist desides to sing, Moby being the worse offender of all. Far better when he just made dance tracks like GO and hymn way back round 90.

One Dance act that i loved and made one of the best dance tracks ever "space face" was sub sub who are now the doves. As a house outfit and a brit rock band they have done themselves justice.

BJ are actually very good live. Seen them three times, most recently at the Forum. They use all live vocals, and quite a few live instruments including drums and guitars. I think they realised the DJ set live experience doesn't really wash (e.g. Chemical Brothers) and have always tried to spice it up. The only track where one of the guys sings (well, shouts is probably more appropriate) is "Where's your head at", which live is an absoute barnstormer. At V one year they had rows of can-can dancers on top of everything. So all in all a big thumbs up from me.

And I would concur that Faithless are also excellent in the flesh.
