Looking for a cheap tower with at least a dual core CPU (preferably Intel and at least 2GHz speed) and 4GB RAM minimum.

It's to sort my Dad out with a new PC - his old Celeron unit is getting too slow (even for him!)

    Thanks

What's your budget? Might have decent little machine (Amd x2 5600+, XFX mobo, 4gb ddr2, 80gb sata hdd, radeon 4650 graphics card, Dvd writer, 600 Watt psu) all in an smallish cube case. If it's something you might be interested in then I will get you a price.

    Thanks

Well I've seen a few towers with that kind of spec go for around £50. How does that sound?

Looking on the forum I'd price up the parts as:

    Amd athlon 5600+ 2.8ghz --- £20
    4gb DDR2 ram --- £20
    radeon 4650 pci express --- £15
    XFX MIA78S8209 am2/2+/3 mobo --- £20
    dvd writer --- £10
    80 gb sata hdd --- £10
Icute ibox PC case with 600w psu --- £20

These parts are fairly good if you want to upgrade in the future...you can put a quad core am3 processor in there and it has a pci express slot for the latest graphics cards...the mobo also has hdmi if you wanted to use this as a HTPC.

Could probably do it all for around 100 delivered or collect for 90?

Thanks for the offer, but it's still a bit rich for me. Especially from what I've seen on a large 2nd hand site over the weekend ;)

(anyway, it's pretty normal for separate parts to go for more than when they're together in a system)

    Cheers

    Hi again,

thanks for the reply...yes it is normal for the separate parts to sell for more than a complete system which is why I have offered you the whole system for less than the price of the separate parts.

I'm open to offers but I just saw a mobo, cpu and ram bundle sell for £40 here and it was a lesser spec than this so £50 would certainly be too low.

EDIT: Also just check and the gfx card is actually a 4670

I know what you're saying :). I suppose I've been spoilt with the prices I've seen systems go for elsewhere...

I may put a revised offer if I don't see anything in the next few days...

    Thanks anyway

I would have put in an offer for this if it wasn't for that damn ugly case! :p
How much without case and hard drive please?
