Yes, i hate splash as well cos i'm still waiting for dvd's purchased in September but.....

    a combination of this:

    http://www.splashdvd.com/splash/voucherpop.cfm

    and this:

    http://www.mailinator.com/mailinator/Welcome.do

means that you can get £2 off these...

    http://www.splashdvd.com/splash/special.cfm?special_offer_id=541

    and those...

    http://www.splashdvd.com/splash/special.cfm?special_offer_id=524

maybe splashdvd have got their act together as 3 of the 30 or so dvd's ive ordered have already been delivered.

the bourne identity (£4.49), 8 mile (£6.99) and a beautiful mind 2 disc (£5.99) were from the pre-order promotion (???).

I'm with you on this one, I've got a few off Splash recently, all for £4.49, The Bourne Identity, Road to Perdition, Blood Work and Apocalypse Now, just to name a few. The wait wasn't as bad as I expected. Got all the titles within a week and a half, seems to me like service has improved, and to be honest, with the titles at these prices I didn't mind a wait!

    D-O N-O-T U-S-E S-P-L-A-S-H!

Search for them using the facility at the bottom - I'm tired of saying this.

Despite the poor reputation of Splash, hats off to you lazarus for a cunning plan. At £4.49 per film I'm prepared to wait.

if possible, can we not turn this into an anti splashdvd thread?

in starting the thread my thoughts were as follows - the love of a good bargain outweighs the possible hassle in purchasing from splashdvd.

if the £2 off link wasnt available then i wouldnt have bothered buying anything from them.

Does it allow you to do multiple orders to the same name and credit card? I'm sure when I tried it said it was limited to one per account?

    Splash are fine!

Yes they take a bit longer than most other suppliers and sometime their voucher deals get bollixed up but if you're prepared to wait then their prices are worth checking out.

Got bourne identity yesterday, so ordered transporter for £4.49.

You can't go wrong at these prices, even if they do take a couple of weeks.

Do you use your correct name when applying for the £2 vouchers, ie do Splash make any check if you are a genuine 1st time customer? If you use a made up name how does it work with the payment details?

different name doesn't matter - nor the same card etc etc... at least at the moment it doesn't

they've now been reduced to adding an advertising popup on the front page of their site and they are the biggest bunch or incompetent cowboys - i doubt they have the manpower or time or money to check the vouchers at the moment.

Although i wouldn't be surprised if they decided to cancel all the vouchers and take the full amount anyway as they don't really seem to have much regard to customer service.

I don't understand this kind of menatality. You pays yer money.....

We all know how bad they can be (I've had Gladiator Superbit on order since August!) but at the end of the day they are damn good prices and sometimes you get your order in a couple of days.

Their CS has has always been good to me with refunds, cancellations, returns and fixing price cockups.

They get a big:smashin: from me!

    Dave

PS How many times have you said it out of your 19 posts!

You pays yer money ... - yeah - but that doesn't excuse false claims of having sent stuff out, or refunded when they haven't, or the lies about delivery times etc etc.

I think you've been lucky and you can't forget when they get it wrong they get it very wrong. Everything is slow with them, but if you try and get them to solve a problem or refund you it's like getting blood from a stone.

I reckon 123456789 is right to point out that they are possibly the worst online retailer ever.

Never had any problems with Splash before & i think the longest I have waited for for an order is 2 weeks. I dont mind how long it takes as long as they arrive eventually!

Anyway i have gone for BrainDead & Bad Taste for both £4.99. Been trying to get these 2 for a while at a cheap price, so well happy! :D

Closing this thread as it is going the same way all the Splash threads go.

If you don't mind waiting for a long time for your cheap order then Splash are for you, but if you want it soon then go for someone else.

Note: SplashDVD are not in our recommended suppliers list.
