    One for the guru's:

I know that an RCVDS 800 will work with a 701 projector, but can it switch component inputs? My theory is that if I have one of the 'RGB ANALOG' input cards switched to RGsB, then it might work. Has anybody ever done this?

Or should I just keep my eye out for a 'loaded' RCVDS 05?

    Cheers,
    Ben

    Hi Ben

    Short answer it won't work

However sometimes barco left some of the engineering modes active in software versions.
If your projector will allow input 8* then it could work.

It's a long way round select component (6) on the projector with the RCVDS mains off. Power the RCVDS up and hit 8* where * is the RGB input card for the component source. If you hit any other channel button after that the system will start talking to the RCVDS again and you are back to square one. If it doesn't allow 8- then see my answer above

Yeah, thats a bit of an awkward workaround! I'll have to upgrade to the RCVDS 05 I think.
Anybody got one for a nice price :)?

    Cheers,
    Ben

The RGB cards from the 05 can very easiliy be converted to component cards with the removal of one diode. Unfortuneatly during a recent computor crash that little gem has gone and I can't easily tell which one it is.
I am sure I will have posted it here in the past.
