I have just got hold of a Barco RCVDS 05 switcher with 2 RGBHV input cards.

I know you can get component input cards for this as well. I think that also with the decoder board it will convert component to RGBHV. Can anyone confirm or add anything to this?

    Thanks

Excelent switcher but what you want to do may be a bit pricey.

Component input card is List £195+vat

Decoder (which IMHO is not brilliant) is List £235+vat

With the decoder fitted every video input will come out RGBS (composite sync) at 15Khz. Its will not split it to Seperate H & V sync.

Are you using this with a Barco projector because there may be a better way round this?

No, I'm using it with a Sony G70QM.

Can the HDTV component board be used with the decoder, and therefore higher resolutions?

I am thinking for the future for use with an HDTV D-VHS.

The internal decoder will only work with standard line rate video. Every thing will just pass through. The HDTV card has one diode extral or less than the RGB card.

What your really need is the Sony switcher or an Extron system 8 switcher configured for sony.;)
