    Hi there
The barco lens program won't unzip correcly on my system.
Can anyone that has it do a couple of calculations for me.

I would like to know the available screen size for the 708 and 808 projectors when the distance from the back of the room to screen is 3.9 meters

The 708 is .73 meters long and the 808 is 1.07 meters long.

    Many thanks in advance
    Alex

Alex you need at least 100mm behind these chaps for ventilation as both push the hot air out the back.

So I have used 3.8 as the PD.

But figures you need are as follows

To the back of a 708 or Cine 7 at 3.8m would give a screen width of 2.4m (8ft in old money)

To the back of an 808s or Cine 8 at 3.8 would give a screen width of 2.1m ( just less than 7ft)

    Hope that helps.

If this is the first time you have installed the Lens program. I'm guessing the problem you are having is that you have to down load all 4 disks.

If you are just updating down load the update but you have to rename or delete the old lens.exe first.

    Thanks Roland
When I said 'back of the room' I wasn't entirely accurate.

I have a stair case up the back of the room which means the ceiling stops at 3.9m but there is plenty of space behind the projector (we could even fit the projector a bit further back if the bracket allows - as long as the cables don't stick out too far)

Still - my reason for asking was to work out wether I would be happy with the width of the screen from the 808 or whether I would actually prefer the size of the picture from the 708.
As it happens I would be quite happy with 2.1m

    All systems are go again!

PS could you see my 'decision time at last!' thread below and cast your eyes over my plans to make sure everything's ok.

    Cheers again
    Alex

By the way - The lens program that I tried to download was from barco.com and was a 4.7 meg zip file.
I tried to unzip it but two files were apparently 'unexpectedly a different size'.

Who knows what was going wrong.
Is there anywhere else to download it?
