would an iscan ultra be suitable to use with a barco 701, I have read a bit about them, they have all the functions i want out of a scaler, but it only outputs prog scan. I am not sure the resolution is high enough, I was thinking more like 720

Has any one had experience using one of these with a 701 .

I would say it would be a perfect match. and 720 would be a good resoloution to run with.

You are correct. The iscan ultra is a line doubler, NOT a scaler. It just converts the normal interlaced signals into progressive - and does a good job of it. It will NOT output 720p.

Can't advise on the optimum resolution for the 701 as I don't know them (yet), but I'm sure Roland does and he says 720 would be good (and I assume better).

I'm interested myself, as just today I got me a 701 Vision MM to play with.

    Hi there

I'm running a pretty early model 701, (95) at 1280 x 720 @48/50hz, this seems to be a decent resolution for the unit, without visible line structure. Any higher than this and its out of the projectors bandwidth.

    Hope this helps
