Does anyone know if the CRT's from a Barco Data/Graphics 800 will work in a Barco Data/Graphics 808? The Part Numbers are 76-17792, 76-17795, 76-17796.

    Thanks,

    Jamie

A quick look at the type of tube used in each shows that they are different.
    The 800 uses a 07MP and the 808 uses a 07MFP2.
You would need to look up the specs for the two to compare them, I would guess that they are compatable with the differance being possably the scan rate of the 07MFP2 being better.

After a quick check on the specs it does look like the MFP2 tubes are a much higher spec than the MP tubes.
The MFP2 is capable of twice the horizontal frequency of the MP, The circuits in the 808 would therfore be trying to push the 800 tubes far beyond what they are capable of. I think that you would be ok using them at lower resolutions though.
Roland may be able to give you more advice though.

Here are some of the specs:-
    BD 800
    H.FREQ. (KHz.)15-58
    V.FREQ. (Hz.)37-155
    H.RETR.(U.SEC.)3.3
    V.RETR. (U.SEC.)350
    RGB BANDW.(MHz)50

    BG 808s
    H.FREQ. (KHz.) 15-110
    V.FREQ. (Hz.) 37-155
    H.RETR. (U.SEC.)2.5
    V.RETR. (U.SEC.)200
    RGB BANDW.(MHz)120
