Hope there's an expert in the room

I have hooked up a philips 963SA DVD player to a Barco 708. The picture is superb, however, there is a switch on the back of the player that will allow me to switch the player from interlaced to Progressive Scan. When I switch it to progressive I get two pictures (side by side, split by a black line) displayed on the screen.
I can continue to use the player in interlaced mode but I would love to get Progressive Scan working properly.

    Any thoughts?

    regards

    Parmenion

I am no expert, does the 708 have a line doubler/tripler & if so, is it turned off?

Ufitsy, thanks for the thought. I gave it a try and switched off the internal line doubler but the twin picture problem remains.

    Anyone have any other thoughts?

    regards

Have you tried using a different input/source number?

    Souldn't be the lido/limo.

Might be a problem with the DVD player?

What freq does it (the projector) report?

Well Lux looks like you were right. Everything is sorted out now thanks to the help of Roland who, as usual, took the time and trouble to talk me through it.

Just for the sake of anyone who comes across this post in the future I needed to select another input on the remote as the projector wanted to "see" the progressive signal on a particular input. number 6 if you are the curious type.

    Roland, many thanks

    regards
