We've been struggling through the installation of a Barco 1209s. We've resolved a number of problems; our latest is that the image 'floats' - kind of like a screen saver effect, moving generally in a diagonal line till it hits the edge of the projection area, then bouncing off and moving in a new direction. I originally thought there was too much noise in the signal, since I was driving it from a computer 8+ meters away, but using a 1 meter cable does the same thing, using S-video or 15HD->5BNC.

Any ideas for things to check? Things to fix just on general principle?

    Thanks in advance,
    Harry.

Barco 1209's have a screensaver type function called "Orbiting".
Could this be what you're seeing?
Look for it in the Random Access sub-menu and check it's turned off.

    Check your PC.
Move the mouse from one edge to the other.

Orbiting is not a comon board to have on a barco.

The effect is independent of mouse movement or interaction, that is, it's not a screen saver. It just reminds me of that sort of motion. Or the old TV/arcade game where the rectangular "ball" would bounce off the edges of the screen.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Harry.

I don't know for sure but this makes me think about 'orbiting' too.
Do you use the 'powerstrip' program on your pc? 'Cause in 'powerstrip' you can activate/desactivate the orbiting ability. Maybe yours is activated...
