What flavours of the Barco 1209 are there?

Cheers.

These are my ramblings in no particular order (or as usual sence)
Like all barcos the 1209 has evolved over the years.
It started as the 1200 then moved to the 1209 and 1209s
They were all the same size and used the same case all were cream.
There are Vision, Data and Graphics versions. all pretty much the same with the exclusion of some hard ware but mostly software restricions on the scan rate. The older style tubes for the 1200/1209 are no longer available a modification kit is supplied with replacement tubes. this means the 1209s tubes are now the same as the Cine 9 (without the Coloured C element.)
There are 3 lens sets comonly found with the 1209 120,180 and 300 all are made by USPL and are interchangable.
The 120 is designed for smaller screens between 2-3 meters
180 for bigger than 2.5m.
300 is pretty much the univeral lens will even go as low as 6ft wide Ignore the specs it is way beyond the resoloution of the tube anyhow)
The "s" versions of the 1209 had some updated components including the ability to take component in directly.
I'm sure other things will occur to me later

I almost forgot....is there a large difference between the data 1209s & the graphics 1209s.
Are the tubes rebuildable at all?
Cheers.
Tim.

Tim.

The Data 1209s is limited to a Horizontal Scan Frequency of 75kHz whereas the Graphics goes up to 135kHz.

The tubes are rebuildable but the ones I have used have been disapointing in terms of spots and focus.
VDC are just starting to build new glass and fit them to the original mechanics/optics.
Sweet spot for a 1209 will be about 960 lines if set up properly.
Well below 75Khz
