Hi,
For those who love all things controversial, you will be interested in Channel 4's (who else!) new short season of "Banned" material, starting from Sunday 6th March, through to Saturday 12th March.
There's...
- a brilliant documentary show, called "X-Rated: The TV They Tried To Ban", highlighting most of the major controversial material that the ITC and Ofcom didn't approve of
- a four-part "Banned In The UK" documentary series, dealing with censorship in films and TV from the 1960's through to today, and
- transmissions of uncut, uncensored films like "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre", "The Evil Dead", "In The Company Of Men", "Kids", "The Idiots", and "Bad Lieutenant", that have previously only been shown in cut versions on terrestrial TV, or have been previously censored by the BBFC themselves.
Should be great viewing for the Mary Whitehouse/John Birt brigade next week!
