The word corrupt is the best way to describe it.

I suspect she has made use of the expenses policy and hasn't strictly broken any rules. However, it is immoral and laughes in the face of all the residents who are struggling with harsh times.

The thing it highlights is that the policy needs to be changed.

I imagine the policy at the moment just has a fixed contribution towards providing accomodation in the city. It assumes that this will be towards a flat and never envisaged it would be used by someone staying with relatives. But it probably isn't prescriptive enough to differentiate between the two.

My company has addressed this. When staying away I can claim actual hotel room (typically £100 per night) or I can claim staying with relatives and friends (£25 per night).

The government needs something like that.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

They're not going to change anything. It'd be like turkeys voting for christmas.

Meanwhile families arebeing evicted because they cannot pay thier mortgages.

Whatever the whys and wherefors of how they came to not be paying their mortgages it kind of stinks to high heaven that they are being treated so harshly whilst greedy MPs and bankers line their pockets at taxpayers expense.

Sleaze was a word that followed the Tories throughout their last turn at ruining of the country - it would seem Labour have more in common with them than they would ever care to admit to.

I guess it must be a competiton or something - who can ruin the country first whilst making the most personal profit.

This is getting more and more stupid. Whilst I'm no lover of the current government I'm quite sure that she wouldn't put her job and reputation on the line for £67

We all make administrative mistakes including the Home Secretary who is probably busier than any one of us
