    Hi,

I am about to buy an AV receiver to complete my setup. I have an MS sub to connect with 2 floor standing Eltax's and need to a buy a centre and 2 rears to complete 5.1 sound.

I want to connect the system to:

    - PC via coaxial digital for surround
    - TV/DVD player via optical/coaxial.

So, what's the best BANG FOR BUCK receiver to buy at the moment in your opinons? I suppose, budget that is. The last time I read, it was the Yamaha 759. I spoke to a supplier to find out that these, along with Onkyo's range are to be changed imminently.

    Thanks,
    im333

I was in SuperFi in Nottingham today and they have the 759 at either £250 or £300. That's a good buy, I'd say and hard to beat
As you say, theyre clearing stock, so get your skates on :smashin:

    You're thinking of the 359.
The 759 was a £500 receiver about a year ago.
    Stonking value at £250, IMO.
The 359 was available for about £170, IIRC, but I don't think you can get it now.
    They're different class amps.
For the money, although I appreciate it might be a stretch, bust your whatsits to get the 759, it's worth it ;)

Oh yes....you are of course right!
True, it is a great price.
If I remember correctly, when I was last inquiring, this model has higher grade components and is UK-tuned - something along those lines anyway?

    Deffo.
All EC Yammys have 2 years, Europe-wide, so it doesn't matter if you buy from Germany or France etc. :smashin:
But only UK ones are UK tuned, remember ;)
