I bought some cheap all-metal banana plugs off Ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5881060646) for use with my SVS SBS-01 speakers. The pins on these plugs are a two-piece design, with a thin split metal sleeve around a solid central pin. This split sleeve is not fixed in any way to the centre pin, meaning it's free to rotate and rattle around. Upon fitting them to the terminals, I noticed that the metal sleeve fit tight but the main body of the plug rattles around and rotates freely as there's no bond between the two parts. Obviously this doesn't bode well for the quality of the connection. Are all plugs with this type of two-piece pin design like this? All types I've seen with a solid one piece pin are a few times the price.
