Hello there guys, has anyone here got any experience with using banana plugs with push type speaker terminals. If so which ones would you recommend? I'm looking for the best way to hook up some Monitor Audio climate CL50 outdoor speakers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any reason you want to use plugs at all?

banana plugs do not fit into those type of speaker terminals. You would need pin connectors.

Why not just use bare wire? I can understand using plugs with binding posts as it makes connecting and disconnecting a hell of a lot easier and I know some of will feel they hear benefits from soldered plugs over bare wire connection on the end of their expensive cables but if the OP is referring to spring clip terminals then surely there's no advantage in any type of plug/pin etc. Or am I missing something?

I don't think you are missing anything. It really doesn't make a lot of sense to use any kind of connector on spring clip speaker terminals.

That's good to know. I have some ceiling speakers that use spring terminals and I was starting to wonder if perhaps there was a safety reason for not connecting with bare wires or something!

just tin the ends of the speaker cable with solder if your worried about stray strands no need for any kind of plug on sprung terminals
