the first two dead pixels... the second two no dead pixels but color casts.

This was my “last”, replacement from amazon until I have to place another order.

I included 100% white and 20% gray. Do you notice the yellow hue ? Or is it just me?

My other panel was perfect white mostly all blue 98% of it... but two dead pixels in green Chanel.

Send back? And get refund ... try again ?

Firstly, do you notice it in real content? Tbh, I would be amazed if you do. My panel has some pink tinting that can be noticed on limited content like the Sky Q opening ident on uhd downloads. Outside of that I cannot see this.

I have decided that I can live with this because I have never noticed any banding in live content.

So the question you have to ask yourself is do you send it back and risk getting a lovely white or not with maybe increased banding?!

Maybe it’s the camera you used or the problem just not photographing
Very well , but I can’t see anything that I would return a set for ?

I can see a clear yellow strip towards the right hand middle of the screen which would certainly ring alarm bells but as stated above if you don't see it during normal use I wouldn't call it an issue worth returning it for.

My first LG OLED (it was full HD not 4K) had really severe green hue issues which made me return it to JL and that was visible across all inputs and during everyday use. How is your OLED during everyday use? Do you still see the issues?

I can see the problem, but without seeing the actual TV it doesn’t look too bad to me , but it’s your opinion that matters

If it drives you nuts, you will never be happy.. So if you have an option I'd return.

The truth is you'd be lucky to find a OLED panel with no tint at all. The next one could be worse.

My original tv and replacement both have tint. The second one is alot better than the first however... but it is a gamble (and LG won't accept it as a fault).

This bit confuses me, on my Oled say I watched a film like THE THING, snowy film, and the tints looked horrid, really ruined the movie. The snow looked pink either side, see pic, picture destroying bad LG stated it was normal. .. This is on a 2016 Oled Panel.. Are we saying they still suffer this problem on the new 2018 panels ? Surly they've sorted this now.

That very much looks like my first set (B8) and I agree it does take you out the movie. My new one is alot more subtle and only really shows up on full screen uniform grey/white. So pretty much 0% of films, 1% of games, 5% in PC mode (due to lots of pure white windows). I'm hoping it will reduce in time (it has already).

It is still very much a thing. As long as LG keep saying it's "within spec" it's an uphill battle unless a lot of consumers get together to challenge them.

This is really strange as the panel on my C6 shows no sign of these issues, I've tested it with Empire Strikes back recently and the whites are consistent with no tint to the sides or middle of the panel. It does have some very slight DSE though but even that got better over time and after running the screen noise tool a few times.

Even when I display a grey screen such as on my calibration disc there is no tint either. I would say that depending on the retailer you may be able to narrow the odds of getting a panel with the issue but you are in the realms of needing to have an intimate knowledge of their returns policy...

I'm still upgrading in the new year to a 65C8 from my current 55C6 but I will be very careful who I purchase from.

Wait, are you saying tint improves over time? I was under the impression it stayed the same over the life span of an OLED.

Nothing is definite of conclusive unfortunately. My second unit got alot better after the first say 10 hours (This was yellow tint, not sure if that makes a difference). Some say it can also get better after 200 hours when the voltage changes.

Theres also the theory the weather can reduce/increase it as the machine parts contract and expand.

What's the screen noise tool? Is that a future just for the 2016 sets? :)

This reminds of the yellow piss stain on the 2015 models. Always on the right side of the screen. I exchanged my 2015 model 3 times until i got one without the stain. I also bought a 2016 E6, and it is flawless.

This is my exchanged one which is alot better tint wise... but still present. Yellow extreme left, magenta on the right. Had pressed to see it in most normal content though as mentioned above.

On my LG C6 it lies in the settings, picture menu, scroll to the bottom and you have OLED Panel Settings, within this you have "Clear Panel Noise".

The tool is mostly to deal with any image retention issues but it also shifts DSE. I noticed a significant improvement with DSE after running it twice, it doesn't shift all of it but it's certainly an improvement.

I also run this every now and again to reduce the chances of TV logos or gaming HUDs leaving a permanent image and so far I have had no issues at all despite lengthy gaming sessions.

Have you used the "clear panel noise" feature which I pointed to above? A few run throughs may improve the screen retention...

Perhaps that is the equivilant of the pixel refresher that takes one hour to complete on the 2018 sets in stand by :).

What caused the issues? Was it channel logos or do you use it for gaming? It's really strange as despite my worst fears before I got my 55C6 it has had absolutely no image retention problems at all. I have even paused tv channels for 20-30 mins and it's had no effect with retention.

What I do worry about though is that perhaps brighter newer panels may be more susceptible to retention simply because the image is brighter than a 2016 C6 panel. It's not put me off the upgrade though but I will be careful how I use it for the first few months.

Yeah that has high contrast boxes and logos all over that channel.

I'm still of the opinion it's a fault with the tv as I wouldn't expect issues from watching that channel, it's only on for what 4-5 hours? Is it the logo or the scrolling banner etc that has caused it?
