Why Shame on Me my cash me do with it what i Like, :lesson:

Bad Boys II was one of last years best block busters, it was way better and more enjoyable than the likes of the Matrix Revolutions. It even out did the original. Its the kind of film you can watch with a few bears and a bunch of friends and have the sound turned up load and have a whale of a time.

The Superbit will probably have similiar picture quality as the current release as a 150+ minute film it will look no better than Black Hawk Down ( normal versions of BHD look the same as their Superbit cousins but sound better due to the DTS track ) Superbit only makes a difference when the original films length is under or around 2 hours ( in my experience )

this may be a potentially silly question, but how would the length of the movie in time, affect the PQ, surely if it is superbit them the PQ should be better, no matter what the movie length

Right just got back from watching it in dts. First i could only compare it to the French DD5.1 track since there's no english Dolby 5.1 track on the dvd.

From the opening shoot out, the dts had the uper edge in my ears yes it was loader but the bass went deeper and the rear channels sounded fuller and had more detail i could hear some stuff on the dts which was'nt as aparent on the dolby. Also teh split effects but a bigger smile on my face while watching the car chase, the Dolby track was also very good but the dts just seemed to fill in the gaps missing from the Dolby track "IMO"

If you already own the the Dolby Digital version i would'nt bother upgrading to teh dts, but if you dont own any version yet and wont to get it on dvd i'd recommend the french dts version.

There is only so much information they can fit onto a disc thus the longer the picture the more chances that the increase in picture quality will be marginal if indeed one can spot any difference, Superbit is a marketing term, people see things which aren't there and delude themselves into thinking it's better because of these marketing terms, i had the original Black Hawk Down and replaced it with the Korean Superbit ( great buy and i don't regret it ) The picture is identical but the sound is vastly improved, for a comparison with picture check this site out and they confirm what i am saying and even include information which suggests the picture source is the same master used for the non Superbit versions as the only thing extra on the original releases was the commentaries.

    www.DVDBeaver.com

The bitrate peaks and valleys indicate that there is not a lot of difference between these DVDs. The color balance, image quality and framing are all negligibly exact. The VOB file dates for disc 2 and disc 3 are the same for the US R1 SE and the Korean SB SE 03/24/03 disc 2 03/06/03 disc 3 and the discs are region 1,3,4. The SE and the SB look to be the exact same transfer to me - probably the same DVD (both NTSC with only the Region coding being adjusted). The Korean disc offers a superior audio option with the DTS as well as the 5.1, but the SE has a commentary with the main feature (probably the only decrease difference in bitrate along with the offered DUBs). So, if you want the commentary - get the SE Region 1- if you want DTS get the Korean - and if you only want the film, you won't be disappointed with the Region 1 Single Disc version for image.

Since Bad Boys 2 is a similiar length to Black Hawk Down and they WILL use the same master i don't expect the Superbit to show any any increase in detail with regards to the picture quality but the sound MIGHT be better ( DTS doesn't always make a difference and in this case i can't see it sounding much better as the Dolby track is amazing )

LOL can’t believe this spilled into the second page, just to put the record straight I was referring to the most important country in the R2 range the UK.
