After a few weeks my HD5 developed the cracks on the buttons however as they really are tiny and don't stop the player from operating I ignored them. Anyway I was bored one Friday so sent an email to Amazon (where the HD5 was purchased) asking what I should do about it. Anyway without me asking they sent a replacment out without even having the old unit back.

What I want to know is there a way of backing up all the data on the old unit and restoring it on the new unit? If not I'd rather keep the old unit than have to spend days transfering all the data back.

Has anyone any experience of this?

    thanks,

    Matt

Yep. You better request a return and send the old back, right away. (They pay for shipping.) You have thirty days or you'll be charged for both. Amazon policy.
