I wish to change my 160gb hard drive for the correct sky+ hard drive

    MAXTOR 160GB 5400RPM 2MB ATA133 D-MAX16 4R160L0

as I just cant bear the fan noise on permanently. Anyway. I have a load of series links, programs etc and wish to copy these to a new drive as I could with the Tivo in the halcyon days of old.

Can I just ghost image the drive and restore it on the new one?

    Has anyone tried this?

It's possible that the replacement drive will not correctly display the % used and free, but you can always try it - just keep a printed copy of the stuff, in case it doesn't work, and have to start from scratch.
