I have had extreme difficulty backing up one particular cd, Easy cd creator, nero and some specialised software failed to do it, but good old XP Pro has delivered the goods.

If you have XP PRO try this where nero, cd creator and the rest have failed!

Place original cd in drive , then a blank one in your CD re-writer.

Now goto MY COMPUTER,click on the drive with the original cd in.

NOW DRAG AND DROP INTO THE CD-REWRITER DRIVE.

Windows now makes a temp folder for that drive only
right click and pick COPY TO CD

you will now have a perfect copy of the original cd which Nero, ecdc etc wouldn't copy.

    :smashin: :)

    Clone CD
    CDRwin/Golden Hawk

Both are much better at copying CD's with copy protection/funny layout.

    Easy CD Creator.

My drive is a SCSI, which has better software support. Never tried your way- Clone CD/CDRwin makes a bit for bit copy- as long as the drive is fully supported.

Clone cd, & others ( which i was refering to as 'specialised software ') were unable to return a working backup.
The above method has not failed me yet ( although i'm not suggesting it's perfect ).
