I can't decide which version to get?

On the on hand you have the DTS R2 box set, on the other you've got the Extra feature packed R1 version, but thats only DD5.1 :(

What is the DTS track like on BTTF, is it much different to the DD5.1 track?

I just can't make up my mind...

Could go for whatever is cheaper... The artwork on the R2 version is nicer IMHO :) I have the R4 version because I got it for £18 from cdwow.

Don't worry about the dts it's not a huge improvement
    Don't get the original R2. It's faulty.
    Don't get the original R4. It's faulty.
    Don't get the original R1. It's faulty.
    Don't get the remastered R2. It's faulty.
    Don't get the remastered R4. It's faulty.
    Get the remastered R1.

Then if you're not too bothered about a very minor miss-framing - get the cheapest

or buy the R2 then write to universal with a copy of your receipt and they'll send you the correctly framed versions.

....which are (by all accounts) much dimmer/darker than the old/wrong ones.

Wow I never knew they were faulty

I'll have to be careful which I go for, and that is a really bad mis-frame too, not just a little bit, naughty sloppy Universal :nono:

Are you sure? The picture doesn't look as bright as the original R2 but I haven't heard that it's faulty.

Or u could all do what ive done and not buy from any region as by all accounts theyre all currently faulty or mis-framed in places.
Why fill Universals bank account when theyve made a complete mess of these discs and it also makes u wonder, wasnt robert zemeckis involved in giving these discs the ok ?

the guys from universal say that the difference is negligible between the the DTS and the DD
so for that id go for the R1 even if you do gotta pay the extra tax
