A few months ago, it was reported that the one of the films from the "back to the future" trilogy (can't remember which one) was badly framed and the manufacturer/suppliers would be replacing when correctly framed discs were cut. This was all meant to happen by February, but this has not happened. Ever since then I have been asking my supplier (future entertainment) and they keep telling there's no news.

    Does anyone know anything?

It was parts 2 and 3 and we'll have to be patient. When it happens, it'll be posted here.

Replacement Region 1 disks are available NOW.

Replacement Region 2 and 4 disks are being sent out in July.

Search for "Back to the future" or "BTTF" in the thread title in this forum and you will find some threads telling you what to do,depending which region you have.

The bad news is that you won't be able to buy the corrected version of the Trilogy from retailers until all the existing stock is depleted at Universal, which could be a long while.

The framing only affects 2 or 3 mins of parts 2 and 3, so it's not a big deal anyway :)

I was aware of this problem, but I didn't think it affected R2 discs. I checked my copy but can seem to find any faults.

So why are replacement discs being issued in July?

    It affects ALL regions - 1, 2 and 4.

It's a minor fault in that the framing is a little higher than it should be, so the bottom of the image is cut a little. I never noticed it either until it was pointed out to me on a thread (which is somewhere around here).

The most prominent scene with this error is in BTTF Part 2 when the Doc and Marty meet and Doc pulls him round a side alley. Doc gives Marty some 'modern' clothes and there is one point where he pushes a button on Marty's jacket. I hope you know which bit of the film I mean. Because the scene is mis-framed, you can't see Doc push the button on Marty's jacket. Well, you can see a little bit of it, but most of it is cut out of the scene.

July is the current date that Universal have given. They keep changing the date sadly :( Let's hope they meet the July deadline this time :) If I get another letter from them in July saying the new date is August, I'll go mental  :D
