Agreed. I love the 2nd one almost as much as the first. All that wild wild west crap in the 3rd one gets to me a bit.

I'd rate the 3rd almost as good as the 1st, and the 2nd well behind the others - still enjoyable though. I do enjoy a good western.

it's ironic but the most futuristic one ie. part two looks the most dated. thought it was silly and jumps around the time-frames just for the sake of it.

I didn't know there was a Groundhog Day II and III......whens the boxset out and is it in DTS? And, if i buy it a bit later than most, will it come in the proper presentation box with the leaflet rather than just a normal case?

In Groundhog Day II, Billy Murray is transported to a Groundhog Day in the future and gets involved in various japes and dilemmas. He has to try to get back to the original Groundhog Day but obviously has to do this within 24 hours or he reverts back to the start of the future Groundhog Day and has to undertake his plan all again. It all gets very complicated and many people found holes in the plot due to the various spacetime conundrums.

In Groundhog Day III, Bill Murray is transported to the very first Groundhog Day, 150 years previous. Once again, he gets involved in various japes and dilemmas, although this time they're obviously not as high tech and so he has to really struggle hard to get back to the present Groundhog Day. I hope I'm not spoiling the film for you, but in the end he manages to get back by ingeniously riding on the back of a groundhog. By carefully manipulation of the reins, he manages to get the groundhog up to 88 miles per hour, thus breaking the time barrier and transporting both himself and the groundhog to the present day. The towns folk obviously greet the original groundhog with great joy and there is much dancing and clapping of hands.

Rumour has it that there is a box set due next year. All DVDs will be thrown into a box and "GROUNDHOG DAY" written in big, bold writing on the top. Those who do not order in time will receive the DVDs in a cardboard sleeve covered in authentic groundhog hair, so it's probably worth waiting for that instead I reckon.
