Does anyone have a UK address for return/replacement of the faulty BTTF 2 and 3 faulty discs? I for one do not have my receipt...oops
Not sure if I@ve got my receipt either. Although I got it from Amazon so it should still be in my order history. But anyway, they don't seem to be saying much about it except for the R1 version.
Do a search, someone posted the phone number for returning the R2 disks a while back. You don't need a receipt, you just return your original disks. I have the R4 which makes it more tricky
Has anyone actually got theirs back yet? I'm a big fan of major hassle, but only when I'm dealing it out to big ugly faceless corporations. Don't like being on the recieving end for some reason and don't feel like being bounced around trying to get mine replaced.
The guy that posted the phone number for UK returns said that he sent his DVDs off to Universal UK and they sent them back pretty sharpish with a note to say they would send out the new versions in a few months (they gave an exact month but I can't remember it).
Any news on the Region 1 disc that need to go back ? ? , Has anyone sent there's back to Universal in the states , If so when do you expect to get the Nice New copys of the disc's I'am of the Florida in September should I wait and take back to Universal Orlando , or send back Now , So should I send them back now , if so where do you need to send them back to ? , So Help Me
The UK versions are going to be issued in April. The telephone number is:- 08705 900 909 The address to send a letter to explaining is:- FAO Customer Services, Universal Music, Chippenham Drive, Kingston, Milton Keynes, Bucks, MK10 0AN. Hope the info helps.
I think it should really be up to the etailer to replace them for us as the discs are faulty and it will be far easier for the to return fualty stock for exchanged new versions
If you got it from Play, they only do a 28 day return policy. They have no interest in sorting out faulty DVD's after that period.
Just how faulty are the discs? I am wondering whether to bother exchanging my r1 discs. Does anyone know just how much of the films are affected by the "miss-Framing"? Is it the whole films or just a few scenes?
Really? I thought it affected the entire duration of both films. I don't feel bad about my R4 now if it only affects a few minutes
Yeah but that's just the most noticeable scene isn't it. AFAIK, the framing error is throughout the transfer, but less bothersome elsewhere.
Interestingly enough. I have received a letter from Universal today to confirm that I will receive the remastered discs in April.
Ok, have checked this out on the web and you are correct. Universal themselves give the error duration as above, for each part
I rule! To be honest, I had only read that on the net so I was willing to believe it affected the whole film. I mean, it makes no sense to just screw up a couple of minutes, how could it have happened?
nwgarratt I would disagree with this point. When the LFE problems were found on the DTS version of Jurrasic Park it was some 3 months before the replacement disks came out. Play replaced my copy without any hassle what so ever. If the fault is a known manufacturing problem they seem to carry out the exchange, Monters Inc was another example. I would suggest a phone call is in order to explain the problem. A friend of mine has spoken to Play regarding the BTTF disks and they said once the new disks become available he will get a replacement. Phil
