Hi All,

I am new to the audiophile world and thinking of the following setup with maybe 70% Music and 30% Movies:
AMP - Yamaha RX A 1060
Front - B&W 683 S2
Center - B&W HTM 61 S2
Sub - SVS PB2000

Room is fairly large as I will be placing them in the living room with dining and kitchen. Counted its about 6K Cu ft so the need for a PB2000.

A few questions:
  • What do you think of this setup and room space?
  • Are the 683 S2s still a contender since they were launched 3 years ago or there are better alternatives?
  • Will the Yammy's be able to drive the 683s nicely?
  • I am contemplating HTM 62 or 61... is the 61 worth the additional price or 62 will do nicely?
  • I heard the 683 S2s are more for movies instead of music... is it true?
Any feedback or alternatives will be appreciated. Thanks.

It really down to what suits you and your room. Speaker have much longer lives than other AV components so three years is not old by any means.
