anybody know if the original 602's are magnetically shielded or not? I have them pretty close to the TV as it is??

Worried it might damage the tv if they are not shielded..

The current version of the 602's are not shielded so I would almost definitely assume that the older ones are not either. B&W recommend a distance of at least 0.5m between each speaker and your television.

0.5 meters away from the tv should be enough then?

can it permanetly damage the tv? or is it simply interference that disapears when there is enough distance.

IMO, 0,5m is definitely not enough. But that also depends on your TV and how sensitive it is regarding magnetic interferences.

My 602 S3 are about 1m away form my TV and still cause a greenish triangle in the left upper corner of the TV.

Normally, the interference disappears when you move away the speakers. But sometimes, it's that strong that it can cause a permanent error in your TV's tube.

I find that 0.5m is fine (Sony 32" widescreen). Any less and you notice colour distortion.

Thanks alot for all the responses. I've moved the speakers about a meter away from the tv now. Never did see any green colour or distorition before thought. Better to be on the safe side though!

    Again,
Thanks for the help. This forum is a gem.
